Emily Bixler's work is a collection of textures that test the collaboration of fiber, wood, and metal. Inspired by a youth of sailing and hot-air ballooning, her work explores drape and composition; balancing hand-crocheted fiber with steel, reclaimed wood, and horse hair to create large, geometric shapes that feel at once familiar and fresh.
Emily lives and works from her studio in Portland, Oregon.
