A keen researcher, Maya investigates different materials and their capacities to perform physically and poetically. Her work emerges from a belief that no material is static. Maya's jewelry captures a moment of loss or growth, decay or flight and bestows upon that moment a fragile prestige. She studied sculpture and literature before going on to receive a graduate degree in Metalsmithing from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Maya lives and works in San Francisco, California.
